Privacy Policy for Purple Koala Studios
Last Updated: July 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Purple Koala Studios. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile games, including Word Ace. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what happens with information related to our games.
2. What Data We Collect
Information You Provide: If you contact us for support, we collect your email address and the content of your inquiry to resolve your issue.
Local Gameplay Data: Our games may store gameplay information on your device, such as level progress, saved game state, coin balance, tutorial completion, sound/vibration settings, and similar preferences. This information is used to make the game work and continue where you left off. It is stored locally on your device and is not used to identify you directly by Purple Koala Studios.
Advertising Data: Our games may show ads using Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google may automatically collect and share information such as your IP address, advertising ID or other device identifiers, app interactions such as ad views and taps, diagnostic information, and approximate location inferred from your IP address. This information may be used for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and improving ad services.
Payment Data: We do not collect payment card or billing information. If a game offers purchases, payment processing is handled by the relevant app store, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use information for the following purposes:
Service Provision: To save your game progress and ensure the game functions correctly.
Customer Support: To respond to your feedback and support requests.
Advertising: To display ads, including banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads, and to help measure and improve ad performance.
Improvement and Safety: To understand app performance, diagnose technical issues, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve our games.
4. How We Share Your Data
We do not sell personal data for money. We share data only with service providers and advertising partners that help us run our business. Some privacy laws may define certain advertising-related disclosures as a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for targeted advertising even when no money changes hands. Where those laws apply, you can exercise the choices described in Section 7.
Advertising Partners: We use Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to serve ads. Google may collect, receive, use, and share advertising-related data as described in Google's policies. You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and about Google's advertising practices at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Service Providers: We may use app stores, hosting providers, and other service providers that help us operate our games and website.
Legal Requirements: If required by law, we may disclose information to comply with legal processes or government requests.
5. Data Security & Retention
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information. Local gameplay data remains on your device unless you delete the app, clear the app's data, or use operating-system controls that remove it. Support emails are kept only as long as necessary to respond to you and maintain appropriate business records. Advertising-related data handled by Google is subject to Google's own retention and security practices.
6. Children's Privacy
Our games are designed for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
7. Advertising and Privacy Choices
How Advertising Choices Are Managed: Word Ace uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show privacy notices, record advertising-consent choices, and provide opt-out controls when required for your region. The choices available to you depend on your location, device, and applicable law. Google may retain a record of your choice so it can be respected when ads are requested.
In-App Privacy Choices: In a supported version of Word Ace, open the game, tap the settings button, and select Privacy Choices to review or change the choices made through UMP. The option is shown when Google indicates that a privacy-options entry point is required for your region. The current iOS and Android versions support this entry point. If the option is not displayed, you can still use the device and contact options below.
European Users: Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may be asked whether they consent to storing or accessing information on their device and to processing personal data for advertising purposes. You may accept, reject, or manage the purposes and partners presented in the notice, and may revisit those choices through Privacy Choices when the entry point is available.
United States Privacy Choices: Residents of states that provide applicable privacy rights may use Privacy Choices, when available, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data or its use for targeted advertising. Purple Koala Studios does not sell personal data for money, but some advertising-related disclosures may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under state law.
iOS Tracking: Word Ace does not currently request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not request access to Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA). Ads may still be shown using contextual, limited, or other permitted advertising methods. If a future version requests tracking permission, we will update this policy and ask through Apple's system prompt before performing tracking that requires permission.
Other Controls: You may use Google My Ad Center and your device's privacy or advertising settings to manage certain advertising preferences. Android users can reset or delete their advertising ID where supported. iOS users can review tracking permissions under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. These controls are separate from any consent or opt-out choices presented inside Word Ace.
Effect of Your Choice: Rejecting consent or opting out does not remove advertisements from Word Ace. It may result in contextual or limited ads and may restrict advertising-personalization or measurement features. Changing a choice applies to future processing after the updated choice is received; it does not undo processing that lawfully occurred beforehand.
Data and Assistance: You can remove locally stored game data by deleting the app or clearing its data through your device settings. This does not necessarily delete advertising data already processed by Google. For information about Google's handling of advertising data, see Google's Privacy Policy. If the in-app option is unavailable, or if you need help exercising a privacy right, email contact@purplekoalastudios.com. Include your country or US state and the right you wish to exercise; do not send sensitive personal information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to information about you, request deletion, object to certain processing activities, or request other privacy rights. Because Word Ace does not currently use an account system, most gameplay data is stored only on your device and cannot be accessed by us. You can contact us at any time by emailing contact@purplekoalastudios.com.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through an in-game notice or an update to this website.
